Strength is … taking care of you. When I had some funky mind-body pain and did some processing, the intuitive hit that emerged was “Do not overdo you in any way, shape or form.” Mind-body pain will stop you in your tracks and that’s exactly the point. Listen. Your body, emotions and soul have a lot to say. They’re sharing their wisdom with you
9th day of the Jewish month of Adar I – the month of Strength
Strength is … breaking the rules, your own, I mean. A few years ago, I remember having this experience: I was driving carpool down a one way, narrow street and a moving truck blocked the way. I had to back all the way up into an intersection and I asked myself what metaphor this was. What my intuition said was that ‘sometimes the way forward is just too narrow and so you have to back up, do something different, break your own rules.’ That day I kept quiet when I was normally direct and straightforward, put on a sweater that didn’t quite match what I was wearing and did other things to shake up my own paradigm. I still do that today—shake up my paradigm when my intuition calls me to do so. And I’ve stopped asking for explanations; I’ve stopped asking the ‘why’ question. I just go with the flow and trust that it’s okay not to know. It feels really freeing and expansive 🙂
And how about you? How about doing something different and breaking your own rules? 🙂
7th day of the Jewish month of Adar I – the month of Strength
Strength is … knowing that the mind lags behind the soul. And the soul is intimately connected to the body. The mind tells stories that are not necessarily true and questioning it gently is an act of wisdom and kindness.
3rd day of the Jewish month of Adar I – the month of Strength
Strength is … choosing the way we speak to ourselves. Kindness strengthens the body, criticism and judgement weaken the body, Gd forbid. Any change made can be made with kindness to ourselves. That is a discipline in and of itself. And a commitment. We can lower stress by changing thoughts. I notice that when I ask myself the question “How can I love myself even more today than yesterday?” a dialogue of compassion and gratitude flows in my mind. I automatically feel a sense of expansiveness and comfort which immediately lowers my stress. Once, I got lost driving and I didn’t even realize that there were some ‘beat up’ thoughts going on in my mind. When I found my way and parked, I took a moment to ask myself that question and voila!, compassion flowed and my body felt so much better and centered ? Try it and see ?

Blessings are … using your imagination and ability to visualize to create new pathways in your brain 🙂 Love this quote in Julia Cameron’s book, ‘The Artist’s Way’ : “Your desire is your prayer. Picture the fulfillment of your desire now and feel its reality and you will experience the joy of the answered prayer.” (Dr. Joseph Murray) It’s actually energy shifting and creates a different energy field for yourself. As the Rebbe says “You are where your thoughts are.”
28th day of the Jewish month of Shevat – the month of Blessings
Blessings are …. men. I’ve taken and continue to take many relationship courses on my personal journey as a wife and on my professional journey as a coach. These wonderful courses have enhanced my understanding of men. I have developed deep appreciation for what I perceive as the masculine energy in the world that has shown up for me in my father, in my husband, in my sons and in other men I know. I am in wonder and awe of the differences that exist between the feminine and masculine. I am sorry for the wounding men have encountered as a result of themselves and women misunderstanding their natures, their vulnerabilities, their wholeness. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow my respect for these wonderful beings and to give space to their way of doing things, their way of thinking and their way of doing their best on this journey of Life. May we partner up in hope, joy and Oneness as we gather our resources and work together in transforming this world into a place of Peace and Wonder for all.
18th day of the Jewish month of Shevat – the month of Blessings
Today is the Jewish New Year for trees. Happy birthday Trees??
Known as Tu Bishvat the holiday is celebrated by eating special fruits. Humans are compared to trees for as much as we need to be grounded below with strong roots, we need to stretch skyward and remember our high soul connection. Our mission is not to escape the material, earthly realm, but to transform it into a dwelling place for the Divine. We do this by using the physical for good. Money is used for health and to give charity, food is used to nurture and live, computers are used to help others with information and send words of kindness, etc. I love how the world has changed, random acts of kindness are increasing and the wonders of the spiritual realms are being revealed more and more.
15th day of the Jewish month of Shevat – the month of Blessings
Blessings are … client love. I’m blessed to be doing the work I do, helping facilitate women reaching their optimal health by tapping into the wisdom of their body, emotions and soul. Sharing a client’s testimonial (with permission of course
“As a busy, working wife and mother, optimum mental and physical energy are paramount to living my best life. When a highly tense and deeply rooted family situation had me constantly anxious and exhausted, Miriam helped me find my breath. Together, we worked on the tension in my chest, stomach and entire body as we finally loosened the hold that this tense situation had on me. Through our sessions, I learned that love and respect of my body’s cues leads to higher functioning and real peace of mind.” Yay!
13th day of the Jewish month of Shevat – the month of Blessings
Blessings are … spiraling into gratitude, appreciation, satisfaction, joy. This is the highest vibration that there is and it draws down a special dignity and refinement from above. I’m feeling grateful for and satisfied with a bunch of things and circumstances now including my computer that helps me communicate with more circles of kind people Have a blessed day
11th day of the Jewish month of Shevat – the month of Blessings
Possibilities are … dancing with tambourines. When the Jewish women left Egypt (Passover story), they brought tambourines out along with the matzah. The tambourines were to be used to celebrate their freedom with song and dance which they did do after the miracle of crossing the sea. Their faith was so strong that they and their families would be safe, that the prophecy of Moses would come true and that Hashem (G-d) was with them in a revealed good way. I just was writing in my memoir this morning of the time in Crown Heights, Brooklyn when women danced with tambourines in the 1990’s. It was after the Lubavitcher Rebbe spoke that the souls that left Egypt thousands of years ago are the reincarnated souls of today and that women should dance to celebrate our faith in the end of suffering. Joy is a wonderful way of declaring faith in positive possibilities.
