Tonight and tomorrow, a great energy shines forth into the world. It is the light of the Chassidic holiday of Yud Tes Kislev, a day that marks a spiritual freedom and a physical freedom. I wrote this post about it in 2016. It is a day of courage.
Courage is … to swim against the tide. When the world says no, and your values and integrity say yes, you gotta paddle with wide strokes. Today is Yud- Tes Kislev, the New Year of Chassidus in which the great Jewish mystic, the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, was released from jail in Czarist Russia in 1798. It’s celebrated as a festive day because the physical release of the Rebbe was a reflection of the spiritual release of immense lights of Divine energy into the world. These mystical lights are called Chassidus ( Kabbala wrapped in more earthly understandings) and illuminate the Infinite power of our souls. It was dangerous in Czarist Russia to spread these teachings and yet, the Alter Rebbe did so, for it was for this, that he was created.
I bless you all with courage, freedom, and strength to use your utmost abilities to transform the world from a place of darkness to light.
