The Kabbalah of Hod—Giving Space

Miriam Racquel Hod - Giving Space Cheshvan 2018 - 6th day

Hod (Giving Space) is … when we hold back from taking action with a moment of silence, a pause, a breath. The Kabbalistic term ‘Hod’ is the divine energy of giving space, holding back and bringing awareness of another. It sits metaphorically on the left thigh. On the right thigh sits the divine energy of ‘Netzach’ which is the energy we use to connect and reach out to another. All relationships require both energies – reaching out with Netzach and giving space with Hod. How is your energy being received by the other? Is there too much Netzach? Not enough Hod? Or too much Hod, requiring the energy of more Netzach? In balance, we get Yesod – a true foundational bonding of safety, trust, empathy and connection.

6th day of the Jewish month of Cheshvan – the month of Hod (Giving Space)
