The Kabbalah of Hod—Giving Space
Happy first day of the Jewish month of Cheshvan 🙂 I’m calling the theme of this month Hod which is a Kabbalistic term with many meanings. Hod has the quality of receptivity and giving space.
This month of Cheshvan is a quiet month compared to last month – the month of Tishrei which was jammed pack with holidays. It’s a month to integrate all the spirituality of the past holy days and a month to get back into regular schedules.
The question is how? How to take intense spirituality and bring it into the day to day. I believe one way to do this is by giving space—giving space to oneself, giving space to others, giving space in our day. Giving space in these ways make us available to the moment and make us more present, noticing how someone is receiving what we’re sharing, noticing how we’re receiving what is happening in our lives, noticing space.
So that’s the theme I’ll be exploring and as usual there are tons of lessons for me to learn regarding this topic. I hope it sparks your curiosity and please share throughout the month what giving space means for you:)
