Trust and Abundance
Trust is …illustrated wonderfully through this ‘Simple Abundance’ story (Sarah Ban Breathnach). She teaches that ” Once we accept that abundance and lack are parallel realities and that each day we choose – consciously or unconsciously – which world we will inhabit through our attitude, a deep inner shift in our reality occurs….”
“Let’s say Abundance is walking down a long, hot, dusty road dying of thirst and along the way she’s offered a cold, refreshing glass of water. “Thanks,” she says as she drinks it down with gusto. “Bless you. I really needed that.” She continues on her way, refreshed and serene, knowing that the next time she needs to quench her thirst, G-d (Hashem) (Sarah says the ‘Universe’) is there again … to supply all her needs.
Lack walks down the same road and when offered the glass of water, hesitantly (what’s the catch?) takes a sip. But instead of finishing it, Lack fears that there might not be another pit stop the rest of the journey. So Lack carries the glass away with him, saving it for when he really needs it later. As he stumbles the water gets hot and undrinkable, spills out of the glass, and eventually begins to evaporate, until there’s barely a drop left.” She ends off with this “Think about this the next time you drink a glass of water. Where do you come from every day? From abundance or lack?”
I love this story and reminder
