Celebration And Survival
Celebration is … surviving terror attacks. I sit around every Friday night, eating a Shabbos meal with family and friends who have survived terror attacks. My husband was attacked with a knife when jogging in Jerusalem 20+ years ago and was rescued by police before the terrorist could stab him. Friends from Belgium had their house set on fire a few years ago by terrorists and thank G-d, smelled the smoke before they were engulfed in flames. And the other friends have been accosted verbally and lost many loved ones in India and in Israel from terrorist attacks and scud missiles. Different continents, same enemy, same reason – they are Jews. And now others are experiencing the same treatment. When will it end?
