Freedom and Releasing Limiting Beliefs
Freedom is … a “visit to grandma’s house and eating all the junk we want” say my kids. Bagels for breakfast, ice cream for lunch and pizza for dinner – now that’s freedom from mom’s tyranny of veggies and fruit, protein and whole wheat. And I get to experience the freedom from the limiting belief of ‘my kids should eat healthy.’ In truth, my kids ‘could eat healthy’ much of the time and sometimes it’s fitting for them to indulge in sweets and other stuff.
Theme for the new month of Nissan is Freedom. This month Jews celebrate the holiday of Passover in which Hashem (G-d) took them out of the slavery of Egypt and into the freedom of receiving the Torah. The Rebbe writes that the word Egypt, in Hebrew ‘mitzrayim,’ translates as ‘limitations’ and the exodus is a metaphor for ‘going out of daily limitations.’ Anyone of any faith can practice this – meaning that each day is an opportunity to leave our ‘ego imposed’ limitations to experience infinite spiritual freedom as souls in bodies. This is true freedom 🙂
Happy 1st day of the Jewish month of Nissan – the month of Freedom
