Courage is … standing up for others. Like what has taken place at Standing Rock. Droves of ‘strangers’ came to Standing Rock to offer their help in protecting the land of others whose water source (survival), sacred ancestral burial grounds and archeological sites were being threatened by an oil pipeline. It is interesting that the word Dakota/Lakota means ‘the allies.’ As a Jew whose tiny homeland is constantly under attack from bullies within and bullies without, allies are crucial. And it takes tremendous courage to stand and be one.
