Humility is ….Yitzi Hurwitz. I just saw a post from him where he wrote “…Hashem’s wisdom is beyond ours and therefore, we don’t understand why He puts us in situations that seem undesirable ” (http://yitzihurwitz.blogspot.com/). If Rabbi Hurwitz was just a regular person with a fairly ‘normal’ life, I would say “sure, that’s a typical Jewish belief.” But Rabbi Hurwitz is not a regular person living a normal life – unfortunately he is a person inflicted with ALS, a debilitating condition and in spite of it, is humble to G-d and G-d’s wisdom for putting him in this situation. He writes weekly spiritually uplifting blogposts by using his eye movement and has incredible humility before his Creator. Such a lesson for me. When I don’t understand a situation, I struggle being humble. I kvetch, groan and complain to G-d that things should be different – like I know better. Yup, I gotta lot to learn in the way of humility. And G-d is very creative and gives me plenty of opportunities to learn 🙂
May Rabbi Yitzi continue to shine his light on the world and may Hashem (G-d) heal him immediately. Moshiach miracles are possible.
